Jumpy Monkey and New Perspectives, Inc. (NPI)

Jumpy Monkey Coffee is a St. Mary's Schools fundraiser. “Coffee with a Cause,” the term Jumpy Monkey Coffee has become synonymous with over the years, was born in 2003 when a family purchased the company with the sole intention of using it to provide meaningful employment to individuals with disabilities. Besides serving this noble cause, the people involved with Jumpy Monkey also established a goal of roasting the best coffee available.

Jumpy Monkey is now distributed by ten non-profit groups in five states and well over one hundred individuals with disabilities have found meaningful employment in the Jumpy Monkey Family. The concept of a “good cause” helping another “good cause” has been a win/win opportunity that has funded Special Olympic groups, raised money for missionary groups to go abroad to help the less fortunate, and purchased computers and other educational supplies for schools in dozens of states. In fact, in 2012 the Iowa Network of Schools awarded us with the distinction of the best partnership between a business and a school in the state.

Part of Jumpy Monkey Coffee’s goal has always been to provide a life of possibilities for individuals with disabilities through meaningful employment. Employment allows our employees to gain valuable work skills and earn a paycheck. More importantly, a steady job gives individuals the experience of feeling the satisfaction and reward of being part of a successful company and contributing to a very visible business in the community. Accomplishing these goals is the reason we have partnered with NPI of Sioux City, Iowa.
